Daisy Decadence

Daisy Decadence is a typeface inspired by the elegance of Art Nouveau and the bold sophistication of Art Deco; embodying the enchanting allure of Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby.  Much like the typeface, Daisy Buchanan possesses a persona that captivates those around her, enabling her to manipulate other people's agendas through her own self-absorption and distorted understanding of the world.  Thus, this typeface features a contrast in bold stroke weights, rounded edges, and organic shapes to capture the personality of Daisy Buchanan.

Perserving the Past

Inspiring the Future

At Ninth Street Historic Park, we honor the rich legacy of the Aurarians who helped shape this vibrant community. By preserving historic homes and sharing their stories, we invite you to connect with Denver’s past and celebrate this community’s enduring spirit for generations to come.

Located on the southwest side of the Auraria Campus, Ninth Street Historic Park offers a rare glimpse into Denver’s past with urban charm coming together. This beautifully preserved block features 14 historic homes in what was once one of Denver’s oldest neighborhoods.

Originally established as Denver's first settlement, this historic gathering place was saved from demolition in the 1970s through a passionate grassroots effort. Today, Ninth Street Historic Park stands proudly as the city’s oldest restored residential district, offering a serene oasis that beautifully preserves its rich heritage in the heart of downtown Denver.

a legacy

perserved

The Auraria neighborhood was once a vibrant, predominantly Latino community with roots stretching back to Denver’s earliest days. This tight-knit community included families, local businesses, and cultural traditions that shaped the area for generations. However, in the 1970s, the creation of the Auraria Higher Education Center led to the displacement of hundreds of families. As the land was repurposed to build the campus, many residents were forced to leave their homes and forever altered the fabric of the neighborhood. While the transformation of the Auraria area into a higher education hub brought new opportunities, it also left a lasting impact on those displaced. Today, efforts have been made to honor their legacy.

Through educational programs and dedicated initiatives, we celebrate the cultural richness and contributions of this vibrant neighborhood that acknowledges the place they once called home. The Displaced Aurarian Scholarship Program further exemplifies our commitment and provides financial support to descendants of these families in order to ensure their connection to the past is recognized. By honoring their legacy, we strive to create a space that fosters understanding, respect, and appreciation for the community that helped shape Denver.
